Piccoli Passi social cooperative was born in 2007 as A-typesocial cooperative thanks to the will of some social workers, who turnedtheir passion into a work project, bringing their professional backgrounds into the new social activity.
The cooperative mainly operated in social tourism, by managing Surf Camp Porto Ferro until 2012, putting a big effort in homecaring and educational caring services, developing workshop activities involving disabled and socially disadvantaged young people.
Now Piccoli Passi is a B-typesocial cooperative pursuing its social goal through the creation of job and social opportunies for disadvantaged people. Piccoli Passi deals with reintegration into the labour market of disadvantaged workers, creating employment opportunities for the weaker bracket of population.
Activities located in Porto Ferro are the cornerstone of our commitment, by means of which we promote ethical and social values, above all cooperation, focusing our task on people (through work reintegration) and our territory (supporting sustainable and accessible tourism, working in a network-like collaboration together with other local cooperatives, in association with local enterprises, in order to endorse products of our region).
That’s what we mean for social work and social entrepreneurship: business totally engaged with a community.
There are a lot of new projects we mean to invest in! For example, the following ones:
- Implementation of new services and work opportunities addressed to disabled workers, mainly in the beach equipped area and in the Bar&Grill service at Il Baretto;
- Organization of courses, dealing with environmental education and career counseling and Professional training, and strengthening of activecollaboration with UEPE (External Penal ExecutionDepartment) and CGM/USSM (Juvenile Justice Centre/Juvenile Social Work Department), aiming to the creation of job opportunities for disadvantaged individuals;
- Logistic support forthe “Cetacean Sanctuary” related activities;
- Touristic and recreational activities, such as sporting and cultural events. We organize events like “1st of May in Porto Ferro”, in collaboration with Decathlon, and “Beach Brawl Sardinia”. We’ll also continue hosting stages of the traveling literary festival “Entula”, in association with Koine bookshop, and organizing great cultural events like music gigs at Il Baretto and the “Porto Ferro Film Contest”.
